What can this picture tell me? Only rarely do I create a picture because of an idea. Often I simply start and see what my existence wants to say or explain to me, what it wants to show or teach me. Often it hasn’t got much of a meaning, but sometimes the opposite occurs and I'm amazed. I can't always determine the meaning of my works. Sometimes years pass before I gain an insight or learn something new. This picture shows two robots, but they proclaim more than just that. What era do they live in? Nowadays we can observe robots, but not with as much completeness as these two represent, independent and moving about freely, creating their own surroundings, provided that they have total freedom of command. But in this picture, „Robot Couple", the existence of my robots extends even further into the future. They exist in an age where they reproduce themselves. |
