Tree
Art print on paper, 21 x 29 cm.

The original picture was painted in 1997 with felt-tip and water color on paper, 21 x 29 cm, in Regensburg.
Some day after tomorrow. A question: Isn’t mankind already at the point where they can build oxygen machines?
A tree, a piece of nature. But what’s nature and what isn’t nature? This division may certainly make sense for certain aspects, and yet everything comes from one source. Just because one thing hasn’t evolved quite as far, and the other one was created by man, we make this division. If I consider everything as one, then the tree is rather underdeveloped and will certainly die out, like the dinosaur, as soon as his time to go has come. At present, the tree still serves a purpose, but we mustn’t cherish the illusion that the tree will not slowly become a thing of the past, too. |
